Holly
I burned up her picture, in my old wood stove,
called her a bitch, and then I cried.
I could not believe, that she'd tell me to leave,
and then laugh, when I told her goodby.
I drank a few beers,shed a few tears
I knew, that she'd tangled my mind.
Well I'm leaving town,I won't be hangin' round
I'm leavin' that woman behind.
So goodby, to the Oregon coastline
Goodby to the rain and the wind.
Goodby to a woman named Holly
I won't ever see her again.
Now I left her the way that I found her.
With some other man, by her side.
Well will he believe, when she tells him to leave,
That Holly could tell him goodby?
I'm only a drifter, but still I will miss her
When I close my eyes for the night.
I think of her still, I guess I always will
But I know things will work out alright.
So goodby, to the Oregon coastline
Goodby to the rain and the wind.
Goodby to a woman named Holly
I won't ever see her again.
