Isla Mujeres

Down, down, in the tropics
There’s a place on a turquoise sea
The island is Isla Mujeres
And, I hear her calling to me

Well the first time you come to the island
You’ll feel like you’ve been there before
Where mocking birds sing out their stories
And iguanas stand watch by your door.

And when I dream of Isla Mujeres
I can taste, that Caribbean wind
I see warm smiling faces and tropical places
Isla Mujeres starts calling me again.

And when the sun sets into the ocean
I’ll sit by the glow of the moon.
Having a beer and ceviche in a seaside cafe
Looking out at the lights of Cancun

But whenever I look at my suitcase
As I open my old closet door
I think of Isla Mujeres,
and I long to walk on her shore

And when I dream of Isla Mujeres
I can taste, that Caribbean wind
I see warm smiling faces, and tropical places
Isla Mujeres starts calling me again.
